FROM HUM CAT STORY THINK ABOUT OUR SELF-AWARENESS (Từ chú mèo Hum nghĩ về tính tự giác của chúng con)

“HUM”

Dear reverend Guru!

I take delight in reading your Letter to Disciples No. 292: READING – FROM MUNDANE TO DHARMA PERSPECTIVE. I would like to express my sincere thanks to you for benevolently awakening us to “external obstacles” and “five internal poisons” that are furtively and silently driving us away from the pure field of yours and saints.

Hum cat knows way to come to Guru

The most specific sign is our laziness and indifference to reading and commenting on CHANHTUDUY.COM. This not only drags us behind “Hum cat” but also pushes us into the danger of ending our spiritual life. This is because Hum cat knows way to come to Guru when being called while we, who can read, listen, speak and think, keep being indifferent to your appeal or “wise words of a kalyanamitra”on CHANHTUDUY.COM through many…many articles. At this point, we seem to lag behind the lovely Hum cat!

You have spent “all your heart, your mind and your power on each and every word on CHANHTUDUY.COM”

My gratitude to you for reminding us the importance and preciousness of getting a human body with “full freedom and advantage”, especially the rare chance of meeting you, our holy spiritual master, right in this life. By means of language named “SABDAVIDYA” (learning of communication), you have conveyed messages of the Buddha and Buddhist saints to us through articles, letters or reasonings on CHANHTUDUY.COM so that we can easily “read, understand and practice” in accordance with our own conditions and circumstances. By wisdom and Bodhicitta of a Thanh tri Master, you have spent “all your heart, your mind and your power on each and every word on CHANHTUDUY.COM” so that we are able to “connect our mind with yours and with pure energy of Buddha and Buddhist saints.”

Our wisdom and merits will be enhanced through the activity of “listening to Dharma” and “being activated on the basis of discriminative wisdom through listening to Dharma”. Therefore, if we are lazy to read and comment on CHANHTUDUY.COM, we are “belittling your compassion, breaking Tantric vow No.1 (disrespect Guru); closing the door of mind from the pure power of the Guru and Buddhist saints; driving ourselves far away from the Tantric Guru which will consequently deteriorates our power in spite of our endeavor in cultivation, because we have lost the foundation of enlightenment – Guru devotion”.

I come to think that any follower or disciple who “closes the door of mind from the pure power of the Guru” and “drives himself far away from his Tantric Guru” shall not obtain blessings and pure energy from your vast vow on February 27, 2014. He surely deserves consequences under the Law of Causality.

Hum cat does not follow your calling but “ran away from home” and by way of consequences, he will suffer! So do we! I vow to keep in mind your teaching and continuously nurture the tree of enlightenment. I will not let the “precious chance of getting human body, this life and advantageous characteristic of humans” pass, particular the chance of being a Buddhist under the guidance of holy Thanh Tri Master.

Your article reminds me of Hum cat who always follows your teachings like a loyal disciple. I am so lucky to see the cats sitting in rows welcoming holy Guru’s return to the Tantra House, or the image of a mighty Hum slowly striding toward you whenever hearing your voice. These have laid strong impression on foreign readers or most lately two monks from Sri Lanka couldn’t stop marveling at seeing them because it’s not by chance these cats show their respect and wish to stride around you, obeying your command. I will never forget the image of Hum standing in front of Hoang Mai Coc (Yellow Apricot Kuti – a small wooden hut where Guru and his consort stay) just waiting for “bowing to your lotus feet”.

The image of Hum standing in front of Hoang Mai Coc (Yellow Apricot Kuti) just waiting for “bowing to your lotus feet”

Requests to “beg for” or to “bribe” the kings of Hell or Deva realms are nonsense

From the “story of Hum cat”, we know more about the specialty and unique characteristic of humans because only humans are able to read while animals cannot, even the devas, asuras and petas. We also come to perceive that requests to “beg for” or to “bribe” the kings of Hell or Deva realms are nonsense. This comes from the fact that pagodas or ashrams often ask Buddhists to submit a request (in written form), then read aloud and burn it during rituals and ceremonies. This is no other than making the Buddhists’ naive belief work to their unrighteous benefits.

Now I realize the value of unique method of practice of Song Nguyen Tantra House – the “Samyagdrsti – Prabha Samadhi” (read and comment on chanhtuduy.com) which will help readers, followers and disciples get the precious chance to employ their advantages in learning Buddhist Dharma, sharing Dharma and publishing Dharma through the behavior of reading. Those who rehearse or practice “Samyagdrsti – Prabha Samadhi” on chanhtuduy.com will get fruitful results as all articles are imbued with right view in the spirit of Song Nguyen Tantra House:

“The boat will never sink though how much Dharma they take

The pen will never break from debunking evil monks”

Other websites may be sharing thousands of articles but without right view and for unrighteous purposes. On the other hand, some advertises themselves with beautiful images of meditation in mountain caves, monks queuing in long row to get alms or Dharma expounding activities with lots of attendances which mainly aim at guiding the followers to do rituals or write requests begging for blessing from devas and asuras.   All of these do not head to the ultimate goal of liberation, thus giving no merit to the followers. Such websites will definitely bring no good result but rather get negative consequences for popularizing wrong view.

I feel blessed to have an opportunity to read and comment on chanhtuduy.com through which I could connect directly with my Guru. This is a precious and skillful means I’ve got in this degeneration age of Dharma when evil monks appear in every corner. I share the same idea with a vajra brother who once exclaimed about his blessings in the previous life that he is able to connect with the Guru with six wonderful spiritual inventions in this life. I myself think that what we’d done in past lives was nothing because anyone come to Song Nguyen Tantra House initially are those who were experiencing hardships in their life. Only after meeting Guru and get your permission to rehearse or practice the “Samyagdrsti – Prabha Samadhi” (read and comment on chanhtuduy.com), has our life turned to a new page. What we’ve got in hand now is thanks to the luck of having met you on our path as well as your vast compassion and virtues.

I bow before you!

O Guru Padmasambhava, please turn my mind towards the Dharma

All-knowing Lords, do not let me deviate into any wrong and inferior path

Benevolent Guru, who is not different from them, please look after me!

Om Mani Padme Hum.

Your disciples : Mat Hai – Mat Dieu Hang
