Letter from Thai Nguyen: IS IT REALITY OR JUST A DREAM? (Thư Thái Nguyên: THỰC HAY MƠ?)

Until now, it is one month since I have worked on the new job. Sitting in front of the working desk, I am enjoying the early sunshine that sparkling on the little dew of the flowers and leaves which make them look much more beautiful. That once again reminds me of the precious chance to have learnt Mind Dharma, to enjoy the most beautiful and miraculous light that shines on not only my life, but also my Dharma brothers’ lives. The light of right Dharma will never grow dim as long as we keep practicing/rehearsing diligently and develop our strong faith and devotion to Guru.

Having the precious chance to have learnt Mind Dharma bring the most beautiful and miraculous light in my life

Back to three years ago when I was 23 years old, I was overwhelmed with a vague and unclear future. After graduating from university, I immediately encountered uneasy and inexperienced reality while looking for a job. The world’s horizon was expanded in which I had no choice but to struggle to make a living and recognized that life would never be simple and easy anymore. Moreover, getting the bachelor in pedagogy made it more challenging for me to look for a stable job. In the beginning, I kept working as a private tutor and earned around 2-3 million Dong/month which could only afford me to live through the days and pay the accommodation fee. Each day after work, I kept torturing myself by asking “Why? Why me? What should I do?”. While most of my friends continuously found jobs in many schools or tutoring centers, I kept dragging my feet. I blamed the circumstances, this life, and other people, etc. and had seen myself being scared of sending job applications. I was nothing different to a person who cling to the prosperous, but fall away from decaying fortunes; as one saying that said “waiters upon providence”. Though I knew where my problem was, I could not dare to make a move. I was afraid that I could not make it and scared of being rejected, there were hundreds of reasons that scared me. Everything became in vain to me.

That situation was on and on until one day. That was on 17 February 2018, the first day that I came to know Guru, chanhtuduy.com, and Pure Mind Yoga. I gradually understood that the three main goals of practicing this scientific practice method include: (1) inner happiness (2) smooth pace of life (3) successful social achievement. I started to write comments after reading articles or listening to lectures on chanhtuduy.com. The teachings from Guru have had a strong positive effect on my mind and gave me the strength to change the old path of thought. I stopped blaming the circumstances but understood that everything that happened to me has been progressing due to the law of cause and effect. In April 2018, I finally made the first move to send the application to a small tutoring center in Thai Nguyen city. Fortunately, I was offered the job and they created a favorable schedule for me so that I could keep working as a private tutor as well. I did achieve the very first good outcomes which proves the smooth pace of life when I grew the faith in Guru and his teachings.

The income that I earned from working in the tutoring center and private tutor was more or less 5 million Dong. The higher salary that I made, the more time and energy I needed to invest every day, every week. I was overwhelmed with the workload. There were many days I came back home at 11PM, I had no time for my own. I had to have frequent health checks because I suffered from chest pain, trouble breathing and headache because of the pressure.  Therefore, I decided to quit the job after one year and kept working as a private tutor. At that time, after learning a lot of Guru’s teachings, I understood that “Being born into human being realm and having a human body is as rare as a blind turtle taking one precious chance to come up out of the ocean every one hundred years and fortunately putting its head through a hole of floating log” (extracted from the Sutra of the heap of jewels). I needed to take advantage of this precious chance to practice Dharma in order to liberate myself from the samsara. Those sparkling things like glory, credit, money, beautiful cars, etc. were just the means to support my life so that I can practice Dharma more comfortably; I would never exchange my health just to achieve those illusory things. Guru once taught me that: “It is enough that you look for a simple job that helps to cover your living expenses”.

After reading many articles on chanhtuduy.com, I learned that I should not cling too much on any material things in this life. So that, after giving me a little while to carefully think, I decided to shift my profession. I quit the teaching job as I found it not suitable to me. Afterwards, I sent many applications and got interviews at many companies. However, I was all rejected because my major was not a good fit, I had no experience, and my English was not good at all. There was a company that I passed three rounds of interviews but still failed at the end. Fortunately, I had been learning Pure Mind Dharma for a while at that time so my mind was not suffering from disappointment and sadness while receiving successive rejection letters. I understand clearly that “Everything happens due to the law of cause and effect”, so only when I earned enough merits, I would make a difference in my life. It works as the law of the transformation of quantity into quality and vice versa that says merely quantitative changes beyond a certain point pass into qualitative differences.

I applied for a course of primary Chinese and improved my English and some other basic skills. After that, I was confident enough to have my interview at one foreign company that has the largest scale in Bac Giang province. Finally, I passed the interview and became an official officer in the Planning division which surprised everyone around me because there were many candidates whose competence were much better than me. The job offer brought me a rather high salary (nearly double the previous one), furthermore, the working environment is very clean and comfortable. The job is simple and stable in the long term. I totally understand that this accomplishment is another miraculous proof of practicing Pure Mind Yoga and the blessing of Avalokiteshvara through Guru delivery.

The foreign company with the largest scale in Bac Giang where I was blessed to be offered a job

Dear holy Guru!

I would like to pay my ultimate gratitude to you as you have granted us a chance to learn and practice Pure Mind Yoga. You have always been patient to teach us, given us confidence and faith in a better life, and helped us to be more mature. From a person who lacked confidence and led a miserable life, I did become a much stronger person in the present, I am proud to be a genuine Buddhist practitioner, and leisurely enjoy my current life. Guru granted me an opportunity to approach and learn Dharma, to grow my faith in Guru and the Three Jewels, to practice Dharma every day to accumulate merits and wisdom for my future journey to the Western heaven of Amitabha. I pray for all my Dharma brothers to practice Dharma diligently, nurture the faith and devotion to Guru and follow Guru until full enlightenment.

May Guru have good health and longevity for the benefit of all sentient beings.

May Covid19 pandemic end soon.

Om mani padme hum.

Mat Thai Xuyen.
