On the occasion of Guru Rinpoche Day (May 10th lunar calendar; Buddhist calendar 2565- 2021). Some thoughts by Assistant Professor Vikas Singh – Tantra Dharma Bodhisita: The fire of Dharma in the midst of the winter of Samsara.

Dear Devotees,

I am Vikas Singh, Assistant Professor and Head in Department of Sanskrit, Marwari College, Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga, Bihar, India and I have completed my M.A. (2010) in Sanskrit Language, M.Phil (2012) in Theravada Buddhism and PhD (2017) in Mahayana Buddhist Philosophy from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India.

Tantra Dharma Bodhisita – Assistant Professor and Head in Department of Sanskrit, Marwari College, Lalit Narayan Mithila University

I am following the practices of Pure Mind Yoga since 2019 and it is very useful for my routine life. I am reading

different articles regarding Buddhism as well as nature regularly on http://chanhtuduy.com. I am continuously translating some of them from English to Hindi for benefit of Hindi speaking people.

The real interpretation of Dhamma is vital in the scientific age. Guru Thinley Nguyen Thanh’s words are so generous for layperson to understand the Dhamma’s in an authentic way. Continuously, I know the Buddhist literature now in depth too due to your explanations. Guru is essential in our life for guiding us the right path. Guru always focuses on mediation because it is a process to positively transforming the mind with associated the orbit of Dharma propounded by Buddha. I am delighted to see the beauty of Guru’s teaching how he connects everything with Mother Nature (Gaya). It is true, without Guru, we cannot go to Enlightenment and cannot get rid of our sufferings.

Without Guru, we cannot go to Enlightenment and cannot get rid of our sufferings.

Tantra Dharma Bodhidita was granted the title of ” the Hero of Dharma”

Guru’s always keeps the teachings in his pious heart and always show us the right path. Guru said that Friendship is precious, but the Dhamma love is more valuable. Guru always takes care of his disciples and encourages them. A disciple has to respect everything related to his Guru, and we are developing such a vision to see everything regarding our Guru.

Guru gave a vision to all of us that only practice Dharma without right view can’t speak the right speech, and without right speech, you speak all day, but it is a group of conversations each other or isn’t worth anything. We have to give up this habit only to talk about Dharma. We have to practice under a Guru who has a great understanding of the right view.

In the last, I thanks to Guru for showing us the path of Dhamma. Thanks for equipping us with the right view and clearing everything in precisely and beautifully. Guru is one who removes our ignorance and makes our life happy, comfortable, enlightened and blessed. In this sense, we are delighted to be your pupil, Guru.

I strongly believe that Guru’s work for enhancing the Pure Mind Yoga and Dhamma is very useful for positive changes as well as transformation of mind.

Thank you so much for allowing me to continue learning from you even when I take long breaks due to health. Guru is as a grand tree, and I am but a sapling who had the fortune to be growing in his presence

Guru is like the coursing river, and I but a stream who has met up over time.

I am not steadfast in my ways, but I have been putting into use over time, the things I have learned with Guru, as Guru has already learned.

The more I grow, the beauty within me blossoms.

I am thankful for Guru in my life, for he is a bright torch where many remain dim.

I hope to someday be able to tell stories of Guru, as well as he told me of myself.

But they are not just stories. They are living. Breathing. Teaching.

Guru is a painting, that is living, breathing, teaching.

A great artist is Guru, for he has instructed me how to paint, while never needing to lift a brush.

He has foremost shown me kindness. And that is something worth sharing.

Vikas Singh. Thank you for painting your picture of yourself, while including Guru’s impact upon your method. You both seem to shine throughout each other, in ways I never noticed before.

Blessings, to all that seek enlightenment.

Thanks dear Dhamma Brother Tantra Midhita for your comment. I am trying my best under the Guru’s guidance. Before Guru’s contact, I am familiar with Theravada due to my birth in Shakya dynasty (Buddha’s dynasty) and studied Mahayan Philosophy as well as Theravada tradition. After Guru’s contact I am learning this beautiful Vajrayan tradition too. I am trying to understanding the original sources available in Apabhrnsh, Sanskrit and Buddhist Hybrid Sanskrit related Vajrayan, but Guru’s explanation upon everything are marvellous and equipped with right view.

  9. Cao Diêu Diệu Hằng says:

Dear Tantra Dharma Bodhisita – Vikas Singh,
I am delighted to read your sharing. I highly appreciate your devotion to Guru and your diligence in practicing Dharma. I have learnt that you are so busy with teaching, sharing lectures in online conferences all the time, your heart and your devotion to Guru brings the strength and motivation for you to spread Buddha’s teachings and Pure Mind Yoga to the devotees all over the world.
You are one of the vivid examples that devotion to Guru is beyond space, nations, distances and languages. as Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche says in the book “Dzogchen and Padmasambhava” that “there is no Buddha who became enlightened without having relied upon a spiritual teacher.” You cannot realize the absolute within the domain of the ordinary mind. And the path beyond the mind is through the heart and through devotion. As Buddha told Shariputra, it is through devotion, and devotion alone, that one realizes the absolute. Nyoshul Khen Rinpoche points out: …there is a way of recognizing the nature of mind solely through devotion. There are cases of practitioners who simply through their heart-felt devotion attained realization, even though their teacher had already passed away or was nowhere near them physically. Because of their prayers and devotion, the nature of mind was introduced.”
What you have shared in this article is really the Dharma flame in the midst of the cold of Samsaric winter full of sufferings. Thank you so much for your sharing. I am looking forward to reading more of your writing.
    Dear Holy Guru,
On the occasion of Guru Day, from the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank Guru for all beautiful teachings you have guided us. You have enlightened us and helped us get free from the dark of ignorance and suffering. You bring us the new life full of happiness and peace.
May Guru have good health and live long for the sake of all sentient beings.
May Pure Mind Yoga spread all the conners of the world to benefit all beings.
May all righteous wishes of Tantra Dharma Bodhisita come true soon due to your merits and wisdom collected from your devotion to Guru and Dharma.
May all sentient beings attain the happiness of the Buddha’s nature.
May Covid 19 pandemic end soon.

    Dear Tantra Dharmabodhisita,
Thank you for your kind words. I am delighted to read your letter. It has been about three years since you started to know me and articles on chanhtuduy.com. I know that with your knowledge and expertise, you can totally give an exact assessment of whether my teachings are based on the truth Dharma which inherits from the Buddha’s teachings or not. Therefore, your sharing which says you have got a deeper understanding of Buddhist teachings due to my explanation will definitely a valuable feedback and a great source of encouragement to other disciples, students, and readers. I am touched by your words when I realized that no matter how far we are, you seemed to understand me and my purpose while teaching my disciples. That is to speak the voice of “..layperson to understand Dharma in an authentic way”. It is not necessary to have a lot of disciples, it is enough to have disciples who are genuinely faithful, loyal, and sharing common understanding. I am happy that I have enough disciples who are worth being proud of like you. Thank you for your letter.
May all your legitimate wishes come true by the blessings from Avalokiteshvara through Guru’s delivery.

    Dear Guru,
Before I came to Buddhism and the classes, I just had divorced from a very traumatic marriage there my ex husband was not so kind to me.
And I was in a another religion what got me totaly of the balance in my life. It was even very close that I would come in to mental clinic again after many years.

I am also an sober alcoholic so I have a lot of other experiences of my life and childhood.

But when I was thinking that I would want to give it a chance to practice Buddhism I came in a group on facebook there a woman contacted me and that way I came to Vajrayana way. I had a wonderful opportunity to start in a Buddhism class with a wonderful teacher and other fellows.
I started to practice Buddhism in my daily life and I started to get more balance, how I should treat my self and others. Because I did not been so kind against my self all the time.
I can enjoy to give love to others and that makes me so happy. I feel more safe with my self and more harmony. I feel more calm. I do not have panic anxietys that much any more and pain in my stomach. And I am so thankful that Buddha led me in this way in my life. I really belive in karma, both in good and bad. What I do for others, how I treat others that I will get back. And first of all, I do not expect anything back anymore from others if I want to give to others.

So this is a pretty short story of long story about the change of my life after the last six months. I see forward for more classes even it is very hard for me to learn that easily. But I am happy to learn more.

Thank you for your comment. Yes, that’s right! A Buddhist practitioner does not rely on the identity as a monk or a monastery. There are monastic practitioners and layman practitioners, and the names do not hinder or create any boundaries between them. You can read more related to this matter in the article named “The significance of sangha is at the purity, not at the robes, the head, specific places or foods”. I hope you will keep reading and learning more!
