On the occasion of Guru’s day: THE BLESSING FROM GURU.

Dear Holy Guru,

On the occasion of Guru’s Day, I would like to thank Guru for giving me a chance to practice Dharma and help me out in difficulties, bring me happiness and peace in life. The more I learn from you, the more deeply I recognise that you are the source of all blessings in my life.

The blessing of a Guru is a wonderful part of human life. It has the power to enable the seekers to attain the absolute wisdom, along with self-realisation, and the Grace of Buddhas. If the disciple perseveres and is worthy, the blessings of Guru can set aside everything that is working against him and shower him with pure bliss. The Guru is a vast ocean of compassion. He bestows his blessing upon the deserving seekers.

Moreover, you receive blessings through your selfless service. You should know how to please Guru; your gestures and postures, your way of talking, and sitting before Guru should be cordial.

Here’s an interesting story regarding it.

A Tale of Lord Buddha & Anand

Anand was the cousin of Mahatma Buddha and one of His main disciples. He devoted and surrendered himself to Buddha yet he had some doubts. Once he asked Buddha, “You sit on a higher platform while we sit at your feet, can’t we sit at the same level and communicate like friends. What is this tradition that those who want to know, the seekers, must sit at a lower platform while the Master sits on a higher level.”

Buddha replied, “Anand, have you ever drank water from a natural spring?”

Anand said, “Yes, I have” Then Buddha asked, “You drank while standing at the top of the fountain or beneath it?”

Anand said, “To drink water, a thirsty man must bend down because water always flows downward”.

Then Buddha said, “Understand that the container in which you collect water, ought to stay at a lower level. And the urn from which water is being poured must be kept at a higher level.”

He continued, “Unless the deservingness gets developed, you cannot receive anything. And if you are at a lower level, that does not mean you became insignificant, rather being at a lower level means you are deserving, you are humble and you understand how to bow down before the Guru. Such modesty is the first condition of receiving anything.”

Lord Buddha teaches mankind to stay humble in order to receive the blessing of the Guru. Moreover, when you get selected in an army or administrative service, after successfully completing all the tests, you are sent for special training. In that training, you learn, among other virtues, modesty. And through this virtue, you qualify for a higher position with more responsibilities. Modesty is very important in all walks of life. You receive the absolute rights only through a Guru, he is the perfect Trainer. Whatever a Guru teaches, follow and move on in life with happiness and peace.

I want to share with you and my fellow learners something amazing. I have finally completed my bachelor’s degree of Psychology. As you know, this has been a long and very difficult road. I could not have done this without you. You have put me on a path years ago when I first started coming to Chanhtuddy.com You brought me under your wing and shared lessons of Buddhism and a path to enlightenment that I never knew existed. I don’t know if you remember but when I first came to you, my only belief of Buddhism besides what I had read online was that it was for monks only, that women couldn’t be monks and that it was sort of a secret society of special individuals. I thought you had to be a vegetarian and live in a monastery living in silence except for chanting and that was all I knew or thought I knew. Then I met Violet who brought me to you. You have taught me so much. I have learned the love and devotion you have for Buddha and for your learners. I have learned to respect and cherish you for all that you do and have faith in you and your lessons without question as you are the path for me and my fellow learners to reach enlightenment. You have given me the opportunity to be a part of this ‘secret society’ that many know nothing about or have the same false beliefs that I had. Holy Guru, I cherish your lessons. Your merit you send to me, your methods of learning and practicing, and your commitment to teaching and leading us in the right way (action), the right view, right speech, being mindful, right effort, living an honest life, not taking what is not mine, and so many other lessons. I have had many times that I have fallen, and you have picked me up. You have always supported my learning of Buddhism. Allowing Violet to teach classes to those around the world has been very beneficial as well. Seeing you, and hearing you give lessons has been inspiring. I’m so grateful to be allowed to learn from you and I could not have achieved this great achievement without you. May you be well for the sake of ALL sentient beings. May all sentient beings be free from suffering and the cause of suffering. Om Mani Padme Hum

I bow my head on your lots feet
I am really delighted by the article of Tantra Amishuta. It explains the delicacy of the Guru and disciple and it’s embedded modesty, morality, modality and beaty in a nice way. She has hinged pon the role of Guru’s blessingand his compassion in everyday bsiness of the life’s mundane and spura-mundane aspirations. I congratlate her nicely knitted expressions saturated with her deep devotion for our holy Guru
The Dhammapada says, “Saddhaya Tarati Ogham”. With unwavering confidence and devotion in Guru, one crosses the ocean of suffering in the cozy shelter of kindness and compassion of or holy Guru. We learn to live peaceful life in mundane existence and rise to liberation and emancipation too in the sblime admonition of Guru. Hence we must not have even a spur of doubt in holy guru’s knowledge, power and position. This she has explained with the talk between the Buddha and his cosin turned disciple, Ananda, in a beatiful way.
    Om Mani Padme Hum
May all he sentient beings attain the Buddha Nautre
Long live our Guru for the benifit of disciples and their happiness
    With Regards
