ONE LIFE ONE MANTRA – 2. WHAT IS A MANTRA? (THẦN CHÚ LÀ GÌ?)

PREFACE In the plateau of Ladakh in Nepal, it is minus 18 degrees Celsius on the 3rd April 2009. Everyone recognizes the biting cold. The local citizents said it was minus 28 degrees Celsius at the same time of last year. Thus the winter in this year is much warmer. However, thousands of people gathered at Shed in the plateau of Ladakh, regardless of the bitting cold weather. They participated in the prayer ceremony of reciting one hundred million times Mani mantra (OM MANI PADME HUM) and Vajra Guru Mantra (OM AH HUM VAJRA GURU PADMA SHIDHI HUM). This spiritual ceremony was taken place under the guidance of The Twelfth Gyalwang Drukpa. The participants included monks, nuns, laymen, laywomen. They prayed for the prosperous country, world peace, their diligent practice to benefit themselves and all beings. In fact, there were 45,000 people taking part in this important event.
