THE PROBLEM IS NOT HOW LATE YOU GET MARRIED, BUT HOW LATE YOU MEET A TRUE GURU ( Lập gia đình muộn không sao! Hạnh ngộ muộn màng với Đạo Sư mới là một thiệt thòi lớn!)

Dear holy Guru,

I am Tantra Upatissa,

I bow my head before the Lotus feet of our Guru and feel blessed by him.

I am writing this letter on occasion of my marriage. As there is a proverb which says ‘Everything happens at the right time’ similarly my marriage happened a little late but at the right time. I was in distress and depression with regards to my marriage as I had few personal and family members. Also we had a caste system in India which was another obstacle coming in the way of my marriage. I could not marry outside my community as people of other caste would not accept us. Nor could I leave my country and go abroad to marry any foreigner as I had to take care of my parents. Lots of things were going in my mind which I could neither share with my friends. I was just waiting for the right time to get things done as destined in my life.

When I came to visit Guru and attended the international dharma conference, I raised a thought and a wish that I could get married and have a happy family. At that time, it was only a wish because I am a shy guy, I could not even meet any girls, let alone talk with her or win her heart. But I believed Guru’s words that even the small wish comes true if a practitioner practices Dharma and gets the blessing from true Gurus.

I believed Guru’s words that even the small wish comes true if a practitioner practices Dharma and gets the blessing from true Gurus.

I was so moved and going to burst into tears when getting Guru’s present with money. Guru is so kind to gift me with Marriage money which really helped me a lot. I am a learner, I haven’t made offerings to Guru, although I have insisted on asking to make offerings to Guru many times but he never accepted my money. He understands my condition and situation, he wishes me to practice Dharma diligently for my better life. I  have learnt that many foreign learners asked to make offerings to Guru but he did not accept our money, he only accepted our devotion and heart to him. Now I understand clearer the teaching of Lama Zopa: “Why is guru devotion the root of the path to enlightenment? Enlightenment is like a ripe fruit, the path to enlightenment is like the trunk of a tree, and guru devotion is like the root of the tree. From the root of guru devotion, the trunk of the path grows in our mind and bears the fruit of enlightenment. Whether or not we can start to develop the path to enlightenment in our mind in this life is determined by our practice of guru devotion. Proper devotion to the guru, or virtuous friend, is the root of all success, from success in this life up to enlightenment, just as the trunk, branches, leaves and fruit of a tree depend upon its root. Or we can think that guru devotion is like the fuel in a car or a plane, without which the vehicle cannot take us where we want to go. Without guru devotion, nothing happens— no realizations, no liberation, no enlightenment—just as without the root of a tree there can be no trunk, branches, leaves, or fruit. Everything, up to enlightenment, depends on guru devotion. Guru devotion is the root not only of ultimate success, achieving full enlightenment and bringing sentient beings to the ultimate happiness of liberation and enlightenment, but also of temporary success and happiness.”

Without guru devotion, nothing happens— no realizations, no liberation, no enlightenment—just as without the root of a tree there can be no trunk, branches, leaves, or fruit.

Later after I realized I was getting too late for getting married and fixed my mind to marry a girl from our own community with similar understandings. With Guru and Buddha blessings on a trip, me along with my parents found a girl from our own community and my parents agreed to get me married with her. Later parents from both sides had discussed with each other and finally my marriage was done. Everything came to me so smoothly that I could believe it was true. Now I have my own family and live with a good wife.

Now I have my own family and live with a good wife.

Another wonderful thing happened to my life soon after 3 months of my marriage I was being promoted to the next level after 5 years of wait time which I could not believe. With the new position in the company and getting respect from other colleagues, getting a much higher salary, I clearly feel the unlimited blessings from Guru, Buddha and Deity. I am a very normal person. I had been struggling in life for a long time before I met Guru in Vietnam and read, comment on his articles. I understand myself; I tame my mind. Guru gives me strength and self-confidence and I can develop my potential, working and practicing Dharma for my benefit and others as Guru has taught me on the path of enlightenment. The methods he allowed me to practice have really worked. My life has been turned into a new chapter which is full of happiness and peace in mind thanks to his blessing.

My life has been turned into a new chapter which is full of happiness and peace in mind thanks to his blessing.

And then a good news came saying my wife was pregnant. Things were happening as if everything was going on as the law of cause and effect on the right orbit of Dharma guided by Guru. Here in India these modern days people after crossing their 30’s age, they face difficulty giving birth to a child. Thanks to Buddha, Guru for making my life smooth at this stage. I am really blessful from our Guru, he takes so much care of his disciples though we are far from each other.

May Guru live long to uphold Dharma.

May Pure Mind Yoga spread over the world for the benefit of all sentient beings

May all beings be free from suffering and get enlightenment.

May covid 19 pandemic end soon.

Om Mani Padme Hum!

    Dear Holy Guru,

I learn that if you devote yourself to Guru and seek his

guidance he may guide you in your personal life. Many do not

share their deepest personal concerns with anyone. Without

devotion to Guru you may find yourself in an unhappy life.

A person’s life can change very quickly in a direction you may

have only dreamed about if you are devoted to and follow the

    teachings of Guru.

May Guru live long healthy life for benefit of all sentient

  6. Tantra Amitara says:

    Dear guru
I bow my head before your lotus feet.
I am very thankful for this article.
After very long time I am commenting.it makes me very uncomfortable to write. For that I am very very sorry. No doubt guru is our present Budha but fault within me.as I am not a regular student.
I am very happy because tantra Upatisa married. I wish to have a good life. I always heard a phrase “people always changes after marriage”. So I wish tantra Upatisa to follow panchsila(five precepts)even after marriage. I know am not very much mature and high practionor of dharma to suggest someone.
From my point of view we all not have to worry about late marry or something else because it is also a type of craving. And craving create suffering.so,If not married it’s totally ok. But we all have a disease of wondering about”what society will say”.

May guru and his concert live long for well being of all.
May all sensient being free of covid19 virus.
    May dharma live long.
May all sensient being attain enlightenment.
    Om mani padme hum

  7. Tantra Sutradaka says:

    Reverend Guru ji
I bow my head before your lotus feet
Yesterday my friend favoured me a by sending a wonderful article to me which is the expression of pious, pure, positive and simple mind of a disciple which is saturated with the devotion for our holy Guru. It has proved the triumph of devotion over the practical expectations even of the mundane life. Buddha has rightly said Saddhay tarati ogham, “one can cross the ocean of the worldly problems with the help of unwavering faith in the Guru or the Buddha. I have realized the authenticity of Buddha’s saying in the practical life of Tantra Upatissa. I am thankful to him for his honest writing which will generate a ray of hope in the dwindling expectation in the struggle for worldly existence. I congratulate for his wonderful article. I happened to meet him thrice on a foreign land of i.e. Vietnam in International Conference organised by our holy Guru. Soon we became very close to each other and shared our pain pleasures of life in which our post, power, salary family position and marital status were discussed. The sublimation of his overall condition was the need of the time. I marvel his confidence in our holly Guru and all his expectation came to be true within a very short span of time by the grace of our Guru. I have realised through this article that our Guru’s Dhamma Road and his preaching are useful for mundane and spiritual life. If it is followed properly the disciples are destined to attain Nibbana (enlightenment) and worldly happiness simultaneously.
I congratulate Tantra Upatissa for his for this wonderful article’
    Om Mani Padme Hum
